C R E W - Emily Swift

Emily Swift of Printhie Wines in Orange is one of I&Ps favourite admirers and the feeling is very much mutual. Nestled amongst a heritage apple orchard just 10 mins outside of Orange, Printhie Wines is a must-visit destination for your next country escape.

My personal aesthetic is…simple elegant lines and I do love a touch of military styling in jackets.

Right now, I’m constantly wearing...my Indigo Stripe Franklin Shirt – great for dressing up for work with a jacket or casual with sleeves rolled up.

The most essential item in my wardrobe is...besides my shirt, a navy blazer.

The smell that transports me to a different time and place... neroli – it takes me back to Italy in Summer and walking through the beautiful gardens on the Borromean islands of Lake Maggiore.

My teenage crush was... Val Kilmer in Top Gun – will be interesting to see what he’s like in the sequel!

This song is the soundtrack to my life... My family voted it should be Vance Joy’s Riptide simply because I always get the words wrong in songs.

I watched this over and over in my teens… Empire Records  But now I'm bingeing... Dare I admit it but I’ve have been watching Below Deck. It takes me back to when I worked on private yachts in the Mediterranean and Caribbean for a couple of years. Oprah came on our yacht for 2 weeks – she was the most delightful down to earth person.

My guilty pleasure is.... gardening whenever I have a spare moment.

Tonight, for dinner, I’m going to have... Japanese starting with a bee pollen gin cocktail. We just did a virtual Japanese cooking class with a chef in London so I’m inspired to recreate it.

Right now I’m reading... I’m about to start The Good Sister by Sally Hepworth, a friend gave it to me and was raving about it.

My invite list  – living or dead – to the ultimate dinner party, would be… oh gosh this is a hard one. I would love to set up a long table in our garden under our willow tree draped in hanging lights. I’d invite Paul Bangay, Monty Don and Peter Fudge to talk about gardens all night.

...and I would decorate the table with / or feed them with... I’d probably go overboard with flowers on the table and would serve freshly shucked oysters and some of Printhie Wines’ 10 year old Swift Sparkling Blanc de Blancs – the most perfect food and wine pairing.

My fave way to wear my Franklin shirt....with a blazer because in Orange you can get four seasons in one day and you always need a few layers on hand.

Emily has on Franklin Stripe Shirt in Indigo and her mum has Franklin Bold Stripe in Sky
